  1. For those in the group shall we get to know one another a bit?I have posted pictures to get something out in the group, they are my mare, Cat, and our pony, Joe. I have had Cat for 8 years, but we acquired Joe, free to a good home, when we moved last January. He is small quiet, child friendly and a good yard mate for Cat.Cat has been lucky enough to have a very easy life!!.. When I was pregnant with my now 6 year old I stopped riding, and after that I did not get to ride regularly, so she has gotten to be "yard art" more than anything else for a few years. Last year we bought a house on 16 acres and since then Cat has been in the "back yard, making it easier for me to work with her, and also making it easier for me to take the roll of herd boss. This has made a drastic improvement in her behavior towards humans. Joe was passed to us from a lovely Christian family whose children had all out grown him, he spends a lot of lazy days beings yard art and letting the kids brush his legs and belly. Occasionally they want to sit on top.I'm hoping this spring to get more time in the saddle since my husband just started working from home, and I'm hoping to get the kids more interested in riding too.How about you?

  2. Hi, all. I've got a 16 yo TB, but no pics available atm. We've also have a hiatus from riding since June (very long story) but just moved to a new barn the first week in January and we've been getting going again, brushing up on our dressage w/new trainer. If it would just stop snowing for a few days! At least the new barn has a fabulous, huge, covered arena (that's why I moved there) so if I can get to him I can ride.I'll see if I can get some pics.

  3. We have ice snow nasty weather.. I had to buy Cat another blanket to wear over the one she has on. She was shivering in just the other one. I cant wait for spring so I can actually get more time in out in the pasture.

  4. Hey y'all! Contrary to the huge number of pictures that my one "Favorite Animal" post stuck in the album, I have only three horses: Pony(retired), Mooch(semi-retired), and EllieMonster(retarded, j/k). I ride on an intercollegiate hunter jumper team, but my real love lies in competetive distance riding. :D Happy to find a horsey group on Vox.
